Welcome to Bedsone College’s
Three Counties Junior Schools’ Cross Country Event.
Tuesday 14th January 2020

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all to the Junior Schools’ Cross Country Event.

It is wonderful that this event is so popular but it does mean that because of an increasing number of competitors, I have to request that :-

Please could your pupils come changed ready to run underneath their track-suits. We can no longer provide changing rooms.

Please could your pupils bring a clean pair of trainers in a boot bag to wear for the presentations or remove trainers before entering the Hall, particularly if it is wet.

Radnor Water have again kindly provided us with enough water for everyone to have a bottle on the field. There will be drinks after the events, but it is advisable to bring extra drinks.

Please contact our Transport Manager ( with details of the transport that you will be arriving in as this would assist us enormously in organising the parking.

Please do follow our Parking Attendants instructions as to where to park. Parking off campus is NOT allowed.

Rules and Information for Team Leaders -

Rubber studs are allowed but not metal spikes. Parts of the course are likely to be muddy so you may want to put tape around runner’s shoes to secure them.

Please ensure competitors warm up to prevent muscle strain and injury, and that warm clothes are available after the race.

The use of ear-plugs; ipods/iphones/mp3 players and the like by competitors whilst running in the events is strictly forbidden.

Parents and non-competing children should not run along side competitors during the competition, as coaching during a race is against the rules.

Please have details of competitors medical histories: such information may be required by our Sister or First Aiders

The course is open from midday.

Parking will be available in the College and there will be marshalls to direct you to allotted spaces

Your team will then be escorted to the registration point.

After each race the team leader must enter the names of all the runners and their positions. First four runners count. Please hand envelopes in to the Scorer’s Tent.

Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd individuals in each race. Cups will be awarded to the winning teams. All participants will receive a participation certificate. All awards will be made at the presentation ceremony.

Light refreshments for parents and competitors will be available.
